Head of Purchase - Leading Packaging Manufacturing Company - Bahrain - Filipino and Sri Lankans ONLY

Our client is a leading manufacturing company of consumer packaging and disposable products to companies across the Middle East and globally. They provide services for hotels, caterers and food manufacturing brands with an excellent reputation for their products mostly made from aluminum, paper and plastic

The company has excellent quality standards with companywide ISO accreditation guaranteeing their products are exceptional. Most of their products are recyclable and environmentally friendly and they are passionate about this aspect of their production

We are looking for an experienced Head of Purchase to be based in Bahrain.

Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer / Managing Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Procurement of spare parts, consumables and other materials required for day-to-day operations and for stock inventories and other A, B, C raw materials required
• Monitoring of stock levels to avoid shortage or excessive stocking
• Monitoring and follow-up of purchase orders and deliveries
• Negotiate best prices and terms and conditions with suppliers
• Finding alternate sources of materials through use of internet

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Business/Material Management
• At least 10 years experience
• At least 2 years experience in material management
• Experience in sourcing from international suppliers
• Proficient in ERP system and in the automation of activities in the department
• Well versed with material planning and control using an ERP System
• Knowledge of shipment, payment terms, LC & other documentations
• Local customs clearing experience welcome but not essential
• Strong skills for restructuring the department
