Job Description

Our client, a leading company in banking industry is currently seeking to recruit Health and Safety Officer. You will be reporting directly to the Marine and MEA Safety Manager Role purpose Providing a lead health and safety role for all business activities within MEA by using their specialist knowledge to champion safety andor managing projects directly supporting the MEA and Marine Safety Manager.Key Responsibilities A. To provide direct support to the Marine and MEA Safety Manager for all MEA Health, Safety and Security related matters. B. To act as the primary contact for MEA travel requests and to offer support and guidance as required. C. Validation and follow up of all MEA incidents reported on SIRSD. To monitor and coordinate the delivery of PPE across MEA. E. Coach and mentor a competent safety team (safety leaders, safety representatives) to support MEA operations. Ensure that national safety legislation is identified and reviewed in all countries within the area of operation and to take the lead safety role for all MEA safety legislation. Ensure local investigations into the root causes of incidents relating to MEA operations are conducted and to act as, where appropriate, lead investigator for incidents as directed by the Marine and MEA Safety Manager H. To support and deliver Safety Training across MEA . To support the Business Assurance Review process as required. J. To carry out Safety Tours and Inspections of 3rd party client sites and other LR Offices. K. Analyse safety performance data and to produce reports as required. Work with clients safety teams on key (moderate and high risk) third party sites. To set up joint safety initiatives with other similar parties (e.g. classification societies)M. Undertake continued professional development (CPD) through the development of safety competencies and safety networking

Skills

Technical Professional Qualifications Requirements 1. NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent2. Proven track record in health and safety area. 3. An assertive approach to problem solving. 4. Ability to work effectively as part of the MEA Safety Team 5. Good influencing and motivational skills 6. Enthusiastic, flexible and results-oriented approach Core Behaviours A.
