    Job Description

    Responsibilities
    •Lead, direct, manage and co-ordinate HR in Kenya at a Country Level, providing an efficient HR service and contributing to the management of the Kenya business by delivering benchmark performance in quality, speed and cost of HR operations, while also providing a HR Business Partnering service to all of the Kenya business units and functions.
    •Ensure that the Kenya HR and Business Strategies are aligned, and linked to the Group Strategic Plan, the Corporate HR Strategic Road Map & Plan, and the Company Annual Operating Plan.
    •Lead the standardization of HR processes, practices and systems across all of the Kenyan
    BUs, in alignment with Group HR Processes, Policies & Procedures.
    •Formulate plans to meet the company’s manpower requirements and ensure proper utilization of existing human resources.
    •Review and maintain appropriate staffing levels of the company in liaison with departmental heads.
    •Coordinating recruitment and selection activities and ensure that new employees are properly oriented.
    •Participate in the articulation of change management programmes to improve the company’s performance.
    •Update and maintain job descriptions for all positions in the company and maintain the job evaluation and grading programme.
    •Develop, implement and co-ordinate HR policies and procedures.
    •Liaising as required with relevant recruitment agencies regarding appointment and monitoring of recruitment process
    •Overall responsibility for the accuracy of information on the computerized system and ensuring that the system is updated, maintained and used to its maximum effectiveness.
    •Participate in review of the company’s HR policies and procedures and implementation of the same within the company.
    •Monitor Kenya HR performance against agreed metrics and take appropriate action as required.
    •Provide support and guidance on the delivery of effective employee relations and development
    practices across Kenya.
    •Monitor and control Country HR costs against agreed budgets.
    •Act as a Change Agent for the HR function.
    •Build the capability of the Kenyan HR team and ensure succession planning, career
    management and development of high performing HR staff.
    •Deploy effective Employee communication strategies.
    •At times, act as Lead HRBP within Kenya

    Experience:
    •Ideally have a minimum of eight years HR experience with at least three of these in a HR Manager role, or Senior HR BP/Generalist leadership role, preferably in Kenya, or elsewhere.
    •Has worked in a commercially focused, fast paced, growing organization, preferably in Kenya
    or elsewhere.
    •Experience within the FMCG, Mining, Trading and Manufacturing industry.
    •Experience in Family owned holding groups.
    •Experience in MNC is desirable.
    •Experience of managing a multi-site or multi-country dispersed workforce across a country, preferably Kenya.
    •Experience of development and implementation of service level agreements and/or performance metrics.
    •Experience of implementing employee relations plans and strategies at country level.
    •Experience in recruiting large number of workforce.
    •Experience and well versed with Kenya Laws & Regulations.

    Education

    HR degree or equivalent qualification.
