    Job Description

    Client – Fortune 500 Multinational manufacturer of powersystems.

    We currently have a vacancy for the role of HSE lead, based in Saudi. The aim of this role is to manage and lead Health, Safety and Environmental programs across client operations in KSA to ensure compliance with legal obligations as well as company policies and procedures. Person in this position will also be responsible for promoting continual improvement in Safety and Environmental performance by guiding strategy and developing Organizational goals.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Develop and implement Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) strategy and organizational goals that encompasses DBU and Corporate goals
    • To lead the development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and improvement of the Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems (HSEMS) within the organization, including the development of policies, procedures, systems and programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and adopted international standards.
    • Manage HSE legal compliance issues across KSA territories.
    • Promote HSE culture through training programs and leadership
    • Develop and manage Safety and Environment systems (Safety System, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) to manage compliance and promote continual improvement
    • Lead and manage the HSE audit process within the territory
    • Ensure access to applicable Health, Safety and Environmental legislation for all staff involved with Safety, Health and Environmental matters.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HSE metrics such as scorecard measures.
    • Implement corporate HSE initiatives.
    • Perform yearly comprehensive Health, Safety and Environmental legal and policy compliance audits within the territory
    • Report Health, Safety and Environmental legal and policy compliance non-conformances
    • HIRA’s (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments) and identification of critical tasks.
    • Write and implement SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) for all critical tasks.
    • Measuring and reporting the following for individual entities and the business overall:
    - DIFR (Disabling Injury Frequency Rate), Zero–X (Number of days worked without a reportable injury), Man hours lost due to accidents, Cost of accidents and Legal compliance levels.
    • Taking full responsibility for the coordination of all Safety, Health and Environmental training throughout the business, including but not limited to:
    - Basic Safety training
    - Safety, Health and Environmental training for Safety Representatives
    - Safety, Health and Environmental Training for Managers
    - First Aid training
    - Basic fire fighting training
    - Basic lifting and rigging training
    - Forklift driver training.
    • Reporting Safety, Health and Environmental incidents and accidents in accordance with company and legal requirements
    • Investigating Health, Safety and Environmental incidents and accidents in accordance with company and legal requirements
    • Identifying root causes of accidents and ensuring that root causes are effectively eliminated
    • Establishing appropriate and effective Safety, Health and Environmental management structures
    • Taking full responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental documentation management and control
    • Establishing an effective Health, Safety and Environmental non-conformance management system
    • Managing 3rd Party Health, Safety and Environmental service providers

    Skills

    • Minimum 8-12 Yrs Health, Safety & Environmental Practitioner in a Manufacturing Environment
    • Degree required. Preferred Bachelors Degree in related field (Engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
    • NEBOSH IGC
    • Conversant with HSE Legislation (Essential).
    • Experience in HSE Management Systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001)
