General Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, coordinating and control of all functions related to the supply chain logistics and storage of 100,000 mt grain storage and bagging site within Qatar from Port to end customer. This includes freight provider negotiation, quotation management, import/export tariffs, dispatch as receivables.
• Responsible for the storage/handling/quality control / testing /weight and maintaining the quality of grain with storage and (other associated activities) as required.
• Leads, manages and develops the Logistics & Supply Chain Operations team
• Liaison with relevant government and regulatory departments to ensure compliance to each countries import/export regulations, taxes and other relevant legislation
• Support the operational excellence of HFC activities including projects or ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Manager or his/her designee from time to time
• Storage and Handling and implementation of agreements
• Policies and Procedures
• Annual Operating Budget

Specific Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
• Develop a strong health, safety and environment culture on site and within the team by actively leading safety discussions/meetings, identifying and reporting on corrective actions and safety incidents

People
• Supervise, lead and coach a productive team on a single or multi-site through effective and ongoing communications to achieve the Company objectives (up to 20 employees)
• Develop and conduct performance appraisals to ensure each individuals performance is on track and/or provide feedback accordingly
• Continuously motivate and reward individuals who continuously demonstrate company’s core values and achieve performance targets

Logistics
• Instigator and executor of logistics and supply chain projects from conception to implementation
• Develop and manage logistics strategy for HFC including road and shipping discharge or loading in order to develop least cost supply chain strategies for the short and long term
• Collate data pertaining to logistics expenditure, captured value and supply chain volumes and costs
• Negotiate freight and product storage contracts and work with key customers/suppliers to ensure implementation of strategies to improve supply chain effectiveness and efficiencies
• Analyse freight/transport provider contractors, processes and relationships to endure the delivery of strategy and performance metric
• Coordinate receival trucks for bulk grain into and out of the site
• Ensure clearance of grain gragoes received at port and delivery to Bunker site. This will involve the coordination with port authorities, custom clearance agents, grain discharge operators, and transport/logistics providers and the like to bunker sites
• Bagging Operations and Contracts
• Develop and implements administrative procedures and standards to ensure contracts and logistics management comply with applicable legislation and company audits

Supply Chain
• Coordinate and execute the supply of all grain from the countries ports and delivery to HFC sites and onward delivery to clients

Skills

• Tertiary qualifications in International Business or similar (preferred)
• 5+ years in supply chain, transport or freight experience (essential)
• 5+ years of commercial grain experience (essential)
• 5+ years of warehouse and storage experience (essential)
• 5+ years using a commercial ERP system (essential)
• Sound understanding of grain bunker storage site ( preferred)
• Sound understanding and handling of grain, specifically to wheat and barley (preferred)
• Project Management experience (preferred)
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint (preferred)
• Safety Licences and qualifications (including car, forklift, truck, weighbridge)
• Strong English skills (essential)
• Arabic (preferred not required )
