Job Description

Leadership
 Manage the effective achievement of the Logistics department objectives through the leadership of the Logistics department - setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise the performance of subordinates and of the department.

Budgets and Plans
 Prepare and recommend the Logistics department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs / revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Tenders and Procurement Third Party Services
 Prepare and facilitate the tender process for Third Party Services (man power, transportation, security, facilities, and goods) and participate in vendor selection and negotiation together with the Supply Chain Director in order to reach an optimum conclusion in services and costs.

Infrastructure Receiving Centres
 Oversee the preparation and establishment of the infrastructure of the Receiving Centres (RC’s) so that all RC’s are fully operable at the start of the harvesting season.

Logistics Management Harvest Receiving
 Manage the day-to-day logistical operations of the harvest receiving process to ensure flawless execution of the logistical process.

Transportation Planning
 Arrange and plan for transportation and storage of dates in such a way that costs for transportation and external storage are minimized
