my client a major in international construction, is looking for an experieced Marine Site Superintendent in Morocco.
The project involves the design and construction of a breakwater, quay walls and protection for a major port, including underwater construction, diving and welding.
Your Main Tasks:
Responsible for monitoring the placement of prefabricated concrete blocks (50 - 80 t) with the help of cranes operating from elevated platforms or barges
Manage and lead a team of workers, crane operators and divers
Holding responsibility for the operation of the barge as instructed by the Project Manager, including: towing to reposition the barge, the placement of the blocks according to the plans provided by the Technical Office and the transmission of instructions to crane operators and divers.
Maintaining good communication with the Project Director and report daily on the progress of the placement of the blocks
Guarantee the safety on board the barge, instruct and train your team by means of ‘Toolbox Talks’, safety exercises and ‘Pre Task Briefings’
Ensure also that all persons on board (including non-members of staff) are aware and follow the safety and environmental rules
Keeping track of weather information, weather forecasts and the tidal operations, and operate the barge subsequently
Skills
Profile
Bachelor or Master in Civil Engineering
At least 3 years of relevant experience in marine works
Basic knowledge about the operating of jack-up barges, anchored pontoons and floating cranes
Fluent French is required (the non-speaking French application wont be considered) and Fluent in english too.
Willing to work on a long-term expat status
Westerner only (must be eligible to work in the European Union)
