Job Description
Monitor and test performance of equipments and auxiliaries in the water area to ensure proper operation and compliance with established parameters in order to deliver uninterrupted service and product to the customer.
The position reports to the Chief Engineer, Process. The jobholder is responsible to monitor and test performance of equipment and auxiliaries in the water area to ensure proper operations and compliance with established parameters for delivering uninterrupted service to the customers. The job holder is challenged to stay abreast of developments and innovations in the field, determine what is suitable for deployment in the company and raise appropriate recommendations. The jobholder is exposed to normal plant conditions - fumes, heat, noise, high voltage, high speed rotating equipment, etc.
Skills
Minimum Qualifications:
University degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum Experience:
4 years’ mechanical or process engineering in a heavy industrial or utilities environment.
Experience of managing/costing projects involving external contractors.
1 - 2 years’ project costing experience involving the use of relevant software.
Experience of technical evaluation of design options.
Job-Specific Skills:
Skilled in the use of engineering costing software and demonstrating capability of making optimal use of the software to achieve assignment requirements.
Deep knowledge of all relevant international engineering standards and codes of practice.
