Project Engineer

Job Description

Design & engineering of equipment/piping with ASME and other applicable codes to ensure its mechanical integrity.
Apply OSHA, NFPA & Company safety codes/standards during design & engineering of equipment/piping.
Participate in Hazop/LOPA Studies and work with the team to close out the recommendations.

Project Engineering - Basic & Detail Engineering
Prepare project conceptual design, along with all necessary mark-up drawings.
Carry out on-field assessments for project feasibility. The task involves recording site conditions & verifying dimensions.
Detail engineering of equipment & piping. This involves review & finalization of equipment drawings & piping isometrics.
Verify mechanical design and analysis calculations using applicable codes/standards and internationally accepted practices.
Resolve technical queries of operations, maintenance & construction contractors.

Project Management - Organize, Plan, Schedule & Implement
Prepare design basis & scope of work for the project. Draft, organize, and coordinate technical documentation with end-user departments & contractors.
Lead the project through the complete project cycle i.e. basic design thru’ detail engineering, construction, commissioning and handover. It also includes constructability and design reviews.
Develop over project schedule using MS-Project/equiv. & monitor it thru’ project implementation.
Assist and engage in prequalification of contractors as well as technical bid evaluation.
Assist in closing warranty issues and technical disputes with the engineering consultant and/or construction contractor.Assist in technical and financial closure of the project.
Develop work schedules, assign and monitor designer /draftsman’s activities.
Create Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in SAP for effective follow-up of actual vs. planned project cost.
