Job Description
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be part of the global Procurement team and you will be responsible for:
• Contributing to preparation of Division's annual plan and budget, implementing the same after approval and assists in the formulation of policies, procedures and systems for the department.
• Assigning priorities to buyers for processing purchase requisitions after assessing users' requirements so that there is optimization of time and quantities of material procured.
• Guiding the buyers and ensuring there is accuracy and completeness in the paperwork and formalities related to purchase requisition processing.
• Ensuring due prequalification and listing of qualified bidders and monitoring the issue of enquiry packages to bidders so that all the requisite information is received before the due date ends.
• Opening bids after end of due date in accordance with level of authority assigned by the Company and ensuring this is done as per Company rules and regulations.
• Overseeing the scrutiny and checking of bid documents after bid opening and answers any queries from vendors or users and ensures that all queries and information requirements are satisfied.
• Holding discussions with users and suppliers' representatives to clarify techno-commercial details in the quotations, budget availability etc. to make recommendations and facilitate decision-making on award of bid.
• Oversees and guides the commercial evaluation of bids by buyers, carries out technical analysis of complex bids and presents recommendations on award of bid.
• Reviewing and approving purchase orders prepared by buyers, negotiating for and preparing annual price agreement for bulk and blanket purchase orders.
• Coordinating and preparing the contracts for vendor specialist services for major equipment overhauls.
• Guiding directs and training subordinates to work to their best potential and providing effective service to users.
About you: As a successful candidate you will have:
• Minimum Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Understanding and knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies required for the oil/gas and petrochemical industry Good communication/networking skills.
• Commercial acumen and negotiating ability.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
