    Job Description

    1. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To technically direct the work of project teams in the implementation, improvements, upgrade and maintenance of IT Systems (including ERP Oracle Applications E-Business Suite) to complement the objectives of the business departments


    2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    a) Carries out the implementation, training and maintenance of new or amended systems software versions and other utility programs supplied by IT vendors and/or other software houses. Ensures all work is carried out according to specifications and IT implementation standards

    b) Conducts detailed systems analysis and implementation on new or modified versions. Defines objectives, documents current systems, gathers information on future requirements, prepares systems designs and specifications, defines security requirements, develops system technical tests, liaises with ERP Administrators and Super Users to satisfactory implementation and acceptance

    c) Assists ERP Administrators and business application super users in preparing user manuals. Provides maintenance support and trains users for packages to accommodate minor program changes, report layouts, and interface problems with Super User(s) whilst closely monitoring application performance

    d) Assists and directs in planning and updating hardware requirements to meet software implementation needs. Assists the Information Analyst in the implementation of BI and advanced report tools

    e) Works with all IT staff and external consultants / vendors to effect major improvements to the designated Streams.

    f) Establishes and effects plans and procedures for data security, integrity, and privacy from an applications perspective in coordination with ERP Administrators

    g) Designs and develop computer programs including studying and refining client specifications, determining final layout of output documents, defining problem areas, implementing improvements, and determining the sequence of functions to be performed according to professional design standards

    h) Analyzes and documents problems with vendor-supplied software, and generates documentation for submission of software problems to vendor; contacts outside resources for input into resolving software problems, and applies corrective action

    i) Completes maintenance records or problems incurred and action taken for future reference, keeping abreast of developments in computer technology, participating in special projects, preparing reports as assigned

    j) Ensure that support processes are followed and resolutions are provided in time with quality. Maintains close interaction with ERP Administrators and IT team to guide them for quality service delivery.


    3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent
    6 years' experience in Oracle technologies with focus on Oracle applications.
    Strong knowledge of application development and support processes
    Good Planning Skills
    Excellent spoken and written English language
    Expert knowledge in below listed area


    4. TECHNICAL SKILLS

    • Oracle Applications Framework (OAF) personalization and extensibility/ customization – Minimum 2 year
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience for supporting Oracle R12, including Accounts Receivable, Order Management, Advance Pricing & Purchasing modules, also if experience in EAM, will be preferred.
    • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development – Minimum 5 years
    • Oracle Workflow / AME – Minimum 3 years
    • Oracle Forms development/customization – Minimum 3 years
    • SOA/BPEL development – Minimum 2 years
    • Web services development – Minimum 2 years
    • Java (EJB) development – Minimum 2 years
    • XML/BI publisher development – Minimum 1 year

    QAPCO was established in 1974 as a joint multinational venture to utilise the associated and non-associated Ethane gas from petroleum production in line with the industrialization plan of the State Qatar. it is one of the Companies located in the Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC), producing fertilizers, steel, refined petroleum products and natural gas liquids. QAPCO plant is situated on the seacoast with jetty facilities and exports its entire range of products worldwide. QAPCO commenced commercial production in 1981 and within a short time, was well-established in the global market due to its quality and reliability.     The main products of the company are Ethylene and LDPE. Solid sulphur is generated as a by-product in the process. The required feedstock, Ethane gas, is supplied by the state-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) for the production of Ethylene, a significant part of which is then used in the production of various grades of LDPE, marketed under the ‘LOTRENE’ brand name.

    QAPCO built its vision on a solid foundation of state-of-the-art technology, which will make possible a succession of new generation products. Our manufacturing facilities consist of an Ethylene plant with a designed annual capacity of 525,000 MT, two LDPE plants with a total annual capacity of 360,000 MT and a Sulphur plant with an annual rated capacity of 70,000 MT besides the self-sufficient utilities, plants and other offsite and auxiliary facilities.
