Job Description

Job Objectives:

• To provide children from 4 to 6 years old with a basic knowledge of subjects
• To provide individual and group instruction in academic subjects such as English, Science, Math, Arabic, Social Studies, etc…



Job Duties:

• Teach basic natural and social science, personal hygiene, art
• Promote children’s physical, mental, and social development
• Supervise activities, such as field trips, group discussions, and dramatic play acting, to stimulate students’ interest in and broaden understanding of their physical and social environment
• Foster cooperative social behavior through games (blocks, puzzles, craft, etc.) and group projects to assist children in forming satisfying relationships with other children and adults
• Encourage students in singing, rhythmic activities, and in use of art materials, to promote self-expression and appreciation of esthetic experience
• Instruct children in practices of personal cleanliness and self care
• Observe children to detect signs of ill health or emotional disturbance, and to evaluate progress
• Discuss students’ progress with parents
• Trains, guides and supervises the assistant teacher’s work.
• Determine educational goals and plan a proper syllabus division, class lessons and activities
• Determine appropriate instructional methods and deliver information accordingly
• Assess students’ needs and capabilities



Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain neat, orderly, bright and safe classrooms
• Ensure proper distribution of homework sheets and long holiday revision packs
• Ensure that all correspondence and homework assignments are inside the students’ bags before dismissing them
• Notify administration of students’ injury, illness, or accidents
• Perform certain specified extra duties such as Break, Art, Parent-Teacher Meetings, field trips, etc…
• Lecture, demonstrate, and use audiovisual teaching aids to present subject matter to class
• Ensure students’ understanding of the subject at hand
• Administer and interpret tests
• Assign Class work, homework, and oral presentations
• Provide group and individual instruction
• Evaluate students’ progress and behavior and prepare reports
• Cooperate with coordinator, and follow his/her instructions
• Perform related duties (substitution, Break Duty, etc…)
• Teach rules of conduct and prepare conduct reports
• Counsel pupils when adjustment and academic problems arise
• Discuss pupils’ academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents
• Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops
• Keep attendance and grade records
• Monitor students’ behavior to maintain discipline
• Fully adhere of the School Hand Book


Qualifications of Job Holder:

• Experience in teaching kindergarten children
• Perfect command of subject to be taught
• Ability to maintain a balance among educational goals, syllabus division, and students’ needs and capabilities; to plan, organize
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Minimum of Bachelor degree

Skills

* Fluency in spoken and written English is a must for all vacancies
* Minimum of two - year experience in the same field is a must
