Our client, a reputable company for Building Materials is currently seeking to recruit Asst. General Manager -Plant Manager reporting directly to the General Manager Job Purpose Lead and direct manufacturing operations in Emirates Cement plant with the overall objective of contributing to the business aims and ensuring manufacturing excellence Principal Accountabilities Strategic Oversee the day to day operations of Emirates Cement plant Define and cascade manufacturing unit metrics in line with Emirates Cement business strategy Define budgets and cost structure for manufacturing unit, including capex, working capital, cash flows and product mix Define and achieve financial metrics of productivity, cost optimization and capacity utilization Operational Lead and control CAPEX allocation as per budget Review annual production plans capacity utilization for efficient use of materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets - for cost, quality, and quantity Approve planning and scheduling, purchasing, inventory, employee scheduling and assignments Approve and control all operational work instructions and procedures Review manufacturing related metrics and reports and undertake corrective action Coordinate pre-production meetings, perform capacity analysis and assess plant capabilities in meeting customer requirements Approve and review quality control inspection system, defect rates and quality assurance programs Monitor performance to production schedules and inventory of raw materials and finished products Review department performance reports detailing production levels, raw material usage, down time and efficiencies and calculate overall plant production and efficiencies Review conformance to ISO certification with QCQA, and implement corrective action as required in Operations Ensure implementation of SHE process, zero accident rate and best practices like 5S, 6 Sigma etc. Lead and direct identification and adoption of new technology Review and recommend major inventory purchases Participate in supplier negotiations at critical points People Ensure attraction, retention and skill development of operations team to create a high performing talent pool

Skills

Minimum Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor Masters in Mechanical Engineering 15 - 20 years of experience in Manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years as Head of a plant
