Bayt.com Empowers Qatar Employers with Exclusive Seminar

Highlighting its commitment to empower employers in Qatar with the tools and information to source, hire, and manage talents, Bayt.com, the leading job site in the Middle East, held an exclusive employer seminar, on May11 at the W Hotel and Residences in Doha. The seminar brought together Qatar’s top recruitment and talent management professionals, the heads of some of Qatar’s most successful organisations, and keen recruiters to learn about the latest recruitment trends in Qatar. Case studies, presentations and panel discussions were presented by both recruitment and talent development experts at Bayt.com and a high-level panel of guest speakers.

During the seminar, Bayt.com’s Vice President of Sales, Suhail Masri, gave a keynote address on how successful companies are using modern tools and technologies to attract and retain top talent in Qatar and the Middle East region.

“Empowering employers and employees in the region is our number one priority. Since our launch in2000, Bayt.com continues to help leading companies in Qatar to recruit top talent. Seminars like this one not only reinforce our commitment to understand and share local market dynamics, but also empower employers with knowledge and information to better understand the issues that affect both the recruitment and the retention of top talent in the region,” said Suhail Masri, Vice President, Sales, Bayt.com.

The seminar featured a panel discussion that shed light on best practices for using modern tools and technologies to source, screen and attract top talent, and was moderated by Bayt.com’s Country Manager in Qatar, Ibrahim Badreddeen. The panel covered pressing topics such as how today’s professionals approach a job search, what tools and techniques top employers use to position themselves as employers of choice, and how Human Resource departments can successfully tap into leading job sites to enhance their ROI.

Hiring professionals on the panel included Irma Malik, Organizational Development Consultant and HR Practitioner; Mohamed Abuelgasim, Senior Manager, Corporate Sales and Business Development, Qatar and the Middle East, HEC Paris School of Management; Charles Schnurman, President, Managed Care Search Division, the Richmond Group (MRI Network); and Fouad El Rassi, Planning and Communications Manager, Qatar Career Fair.

“In this age of technological advancement, recruitment and employee retention practices are changing every day. Simultaneously, every employer in the market is looking for dedicated and loyal workforce that can help achieve the Company’s business objectives. In such a scenario, it is very important to organize seminars and workshops like Bayt.com wherein practitioners share narratives (challenges & solutions) to harness and retain best talent,” said Irma Malik.

‘’The sourcing and subsequent accurate and precise evaluation of candidates requires sound human processes supported by efficient and accessible technical tools. The risks associated with not using technology include sub-optimal overall performance, reduced efficiency, and costly corrective measures after the recruitment process. In an increasingly competitive environment, these risks cannot be accepted in any successful organization,” said Mohamed Abuelgasim.

“We came here to discuss best practices and innovative solutions for employers, especially when it comes to the tools and techniques they are using to attract talents, and why their methods are working or failing,” said Charles Schnurman.

“It was very exciting to hear the insights of the other panelists, because finding the perfect candidate is always a challenging exercise. Technological advances will continue to revolutionize the recruitment model, as such, nowadays it is employers who have to digitally go after candidates, while not long ago it was these latter who had to mobilise huge efforts to successfully pitch themselves to employers. Indeed, technology and its various manifestations led to a more balanced model,” said Fouad El Rassi.

In addition to the panel, a host of high-level guest speakers were invited to address the hiring and retention of employees through specific case studies. These included Mohamad Al Jaidah, Chairman, Jaidah Group; Bothaina Al Ansari, Senior Director – HR, Ooredoo; and Emad Al Khaja, Executive Director, INJAZ Qatar.

“Recruitment plays a central role in any business and while the exercise of recruiting can be done by anyone, it is successful recruitment that is trickier. With the projected growth in Qatar, it is also a topic very pertinent at the mome, and this seminar presents an excellent platform to discuss issues and insights most relevant to the theme, particularly how the private sector can best source, attract and retain talent. We have found that potential employees have moved from simply using traditional tools for finding jobs to using leading job sites when looking for a new opportunity. Therefore, partnering with one of the best online recruitment sites such as Bayt.com on such an event and collaborating on the long term only makes sense for our company in order to enrich our knowledge and make better decisions when it comes to hiring a talented workforce,” said Mohamed Jaidah.

“It can be difficult to hire the best in the market and build a great team, especially when you’re a non-profit organization. Bayt.com has helped us brand INJAZ as an employer of choice. Thanks to Bayt.com, we were able to attract the best talents and position ourselves as a top place to work in Qatar,” said Emad Al Khaja.

“Today, the executive talent pool has become incredibly web savvy and most professionals have active online profiles. Where once online recruitment was used primarily to recruit entry to mid-level employees, it is now a major platform to source and attract senior executive talent, and Bayt.com has helped do so in an easy and cost-effective manner,” said Bothaina Al Ansari.

Bayt.com is committed to empowering employers in Qatar, and across the region, with the tools, technologies and information they need to source, attract and retain top talent.
