As part of its on-going commitment to employers throughout the region, the Middle East’s leading job site, Bayt.com, held an exclusive employer seminar entitled the ‘The Economic Downturn: Sourcing and Assessment Tools and Processes’, on April25 at the W Hotel in Doha Qatar.

The seminar brought together Qatar’s top recruitment and talent management professionals, the heads of some of Qatar’s most successful organisations, and keen recruiters to learn about the latest recruitment trends in Qatar. Case studies, presentations and panel discussions were presented by both recruitment and talent development experts at Bayt.com and a high-level panel of guest speakers.

During the seminar, Bayt.com’s Vice President of Employer Solutions, Suhail Masri, gave a keynote address entitled Optimizing Productivity and Going Back to Basics with the Right HR Formula in Qatar.

During the seminar, a panel discussion that shed light on the modern HR department featured industry heavyweights Raja Assili, Chief Operating Officer, HEC Paris; Aysha al Mudahka, Chief Executive Officer, QBIC; Zuhair Naqvi, Managing Director, Dicotech; and Tamer Amer, Regional HR Manager at PORR Qatar. The panel covered pressing topics such as how today’s professionals approach a job search, what tools and techniques can be used in the modern HR department and how they can successfully tap into leading job sites to enhance their ROI.

In addition to the panel, a host of high-level guest speakers were invited to address the hiring and retention of employees through specific case studies. These included Filip Gilbert, Partner at Deloitte & Touche Bakr Abulkhair & Co; Hasan Imam Khawaja, Manager Talent Acquisition & Retention at Qatar District Cooling Company; and Munther Zeidan, General Manager at TAQAT for Distance Employment.
