Provide financial analyses in market intelligence studies, aimed at documenting business developments and opportunities in engineering sciences, and to participate directly into data basing and managing market data of relevance to the Commercial Manager's efforts in documenting specific projects and/or scouting companies for KAUST's Research Park and Innovation Cluster.
To provide financial support to the Commercial Manager in following up and negotiating with selected
candidate companies, such as spin-ins, KAUST spin-offs, or large industrial players that moving into
KAUST's Research Park and Innovation Cluster.
To provide and interpret financial information on targeted markets for specific technological developments in engineering sciences that are aligned with KAUST's themes as well as KAUST's scientists' expertise
To provide the financial data in building business cases for selected candidate companies such as spin-ins, KAUST spin-offs, or large industrial players with which the Commercial Manager is having discussions for implementation into KAUST's Research Park and Innovation Cluster
To assist the Commercial Manager in all aspects and tasks associated to the choice and/or design, and/or further development as well as implementation and management of a market intelligence system to monitor market stakeholders and commercial activities that are aligned with KAUST and/or KSA priorities in knowledge-based developments in engineering sciences.
To monitor on a regular basis the financial trends and challenges in markets that are aligned with KAUST and/or KSA priorities in knowledge-based developments in engineering sciences.
In conducting due diligence on candidate companies such as spin-ins, KAUST spin-offs, or large industrial players with which the Commercial Manager is connecting, or when following up with such companies, to:
Document sources of public and private
financing for start-ups in the KSA
To assist the Commercial Manager in tracking and monitoring technology transfer and innovation opportunities within KAUST
To assist the Commercial Manager in working with Faculty who desire to get involved in technology transfer and innovation activities to formulate a development plan based on milestones leading to the creation of KAUST spin-offs.
To collect, to database, to mine and to analyze financial market data in order to support the Commercial Manager in his relationships with market stakeholders.
To identify, connect and liaison, as well as develop sustained relationships with high-ranking officers and lead scientists inside the companies targeted as likely candidates for Research Park and Innovation Cluster
To assemble the necessary financial data for due diligence procedures on selected candidate companies, both from within KAUST as well as from without KAUST.
To provide clerical and conceptual support in the formulation of contractual deals that will lead to the creation of spin-ins, spin-offs or subsidiary enterprises locating on KAUST's Research Park and Innovation Cluster.
To assist the Commercial Manager in documenting relevant stakeholders in governmental and institutional partners that are involved in the promotion of innovation and in the development of knowledge-based economy in engineering, in KSA and across MENA.
To assist in designing and creating the promotional materials used by the Commercial Manager in reaching out to market stakeholders and in targeting the promoters and/or the organizations that can deliver spin-ins to KAUST.
To receive and review finance-related incoming materials and correspondence, screen and reroute as appropriate, and take action personally when deemed important and possible.
To coordinate logistics for meetings including reserving rooms, making video and audio conference arrangements determining schedule of hosts and sending rem
Computer skills, including facility with Word, Power Point, spreadsheets, databases and web sites.
Functional understanding of industry best practices in mapping out strategic business development plans and conducting due diligence work on companies' budgetary projections.
Practical experience in the development of procedures in monitoring companies' cash-flows, analyzing financial market data, and auditing companies.

Required Education An undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, or experience of practical relevance. Preferable Masters Degree in Finance, or Business Administration, or Accounting.
Minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience with financial analyses in market intelligence studies, aimed at documenting business developments and opportunities in engineering sciences.
