<description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Purpose:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To respond quickly to customer enquiries and bid/tender tender opportunities by ensuring detailed specifications are codified,  raw material requirements are analysed so that the production cables can be costed and detailed specifications and prices confirmed to potential customers.&lt;br /&gt;To process the customer purchase order by ensuring correct translation  of customer requirement into the company design sheets.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Strategic Importance:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;	Proactively seeking ways to enhance the accuracy/completeness of information and technical support provided to customers by continually improving responses to customer enquiries or requests for clarification &lt;br /&gt;	Ensuring that Technical Bid Evaluation meetings are fully supported and that all aspects of customers’ requirements for technical information and specifications are fully met.&lt;br /&gt;	Ensuring that all the raw material requirements and production processes necessary to manufacture a specific cable are properly analysed and documented so that production runs can be correctly planned and executed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Key Accountabilities:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;	To contribute to the development and submission of the Technical department 3-year plan&lt;br /&gt;	To support achievement of the Sales plan by ensuring detailed and accurate responses to all customer enquiries in a timely manner (product designs/  specifications; technical data sheets,  bills of materials) &lt;br /&gt;	To deliver effective costing of production by generating competitive and cost-effective designs to meet customer requirements&lt;br /&gt;	To ensure that accurate bills of materials are produced to effectively meet customer requirements by overseeing the use of the cable coding system&lt;br /&gt;	To support Sales in capturing business,  providing additional information and expert advice on a timely basis to EPC technical evaluation teams to clarify points during the Technical Bid Evaluation process&lt;br /&gt;	To contribute to the development of new products.&lt;br /&gt;	To promote and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through positively supporting Sales teams to promptly and effectively deal with after-sales technical issues (including conducting on-site trouble-shooting investigations to effectively and promptly resolve technical problems)&lt;br /&gt;	To develop,  train and motivate staff within Technical Engineering to deliver the highest levels of performance,  further building upon their existing capabilities and enhancing their current    and future performance contributions to the company .&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Key Job Authorities and Dimensions:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;	Manager  team of 4 Technical Engineers and 2 Technical Co-ordinators&lt;/p&gt;&lt;h2&gt;Job Details&lt;/h2&gt;
