Putting Traits and Qualities on Job Advertisements. Essential or not?

Most company job ads will have traits and qualities posted and included in the job role, looking for clients with "good personality, kind, passionate, respectful, hardworking, enthusiastic, eager to learn, etc" -- are these really essential on an effective job ad? Will applicants really care or focus with the traits required on the advertisement? Or is it just for unnecessary additives on a job advertisement?
