If he is exactly pin pointing the facts, better convince him with only positive features 

Facts concealing the truths, or going negative with him will have an adverse impact on the relationship and may loose the customer. Just have a smile, and accept his comments happily.

The main aim of a marketing executive is to convince the customer of the product by bringing out the 'Best of the Product'  while the customer shoots with a difficult question of the product. I would intilaly listen to him and start with telling him that i understand your keen concern regarding the product and make the customer feel that i empathize his concern and would make him feel that i would not rupture his trust and the customer will surely buy my negotiation regarding his query even though if i have not answered him hundred percent.

 

Tool used here is- Empathize your customer and build a trust between the customer and the Marketer.

I guess the best way to deal with the hard question is by asking the customer for a moment and then approach your seniors with the question for an answer.

The proper response would be "Great question, let me find that out for you right now." This way you are putting your customers needs first over your own situation making them feel that you are going to do whatever you need to in order to attend their queries/needs. Furthermore, I will use this experience to improve myself in becoming more effective and knowledgeable in my profession for future references.
