when you go on interview, you become a sales person, you sell your expertise and your personalities and abilities, think of it its your chance to shine professionally.
general question is no unfortunate, its actually the most successful way of interviewing, an interviewer ask you a general question and it is your job to tell him every details about you and go deep in the task, this allows you to sell your self.
as an interviewer my self when i ask a general question i see to what level is the answer going to be based on, who only answers general answer i know he have basic info of the task, who runs deep and be initiative and tell me deep answer , shows me a character and knowledge and show me he is sure of what to answer about.
don't be scared to go deep with your answers and show your knowledge, as an HR professional that's my opinion.
