50 sieve trays) In EDC (ethylene Dichloride plant separates light ends and isotropic mixture(edc &water) these light ends are corrosive so caustic soda is added, once condenser is damaged and replaced with new graphite vertical one.at first this column was OK but after15 days this problem occurred during this all column parameters (re-boiler steam and condenser cooling water are the same ) and column top pressure increases.
IT IS CAUSED BY MANY REASONS
1. DUE to the heatexchanger problem
2.due to the distillation tray problems
3.poor perfomance of boiler feeder

There are many reason of this
1- you cheack your feed specification.
2-if you reflux back section of tower tempreture is going down then check your control valve strokes if control valve is available otherwise pinch the pump discharge valve.
3-and my3rd suggesion is your tower trays or demester pads gone pluged.

there are many resons lead to this case mainly :
1.Losses of heat during the15 days occurse by the column wall(poor insulation).
2. Or a sudden change in the external condititon leads to a change in the reflux (the refluux ratio increase to1)
3.No feed .
