As a manager, in what position would you place an employee who is extremely intelligent but lazy?

"Efficiency is intelligent laziness". Lazy people are always wanting to do something. The man who is clever and lazy is fit for the very highest command. He has the temperament and the requisite nerves to deal with all situations.You can use the brilliant but lazy man as a strategist. He has always a time to think. Smart Actives would be the more prized but " Smart Lazies" are the most valuable. ..use the power of smart Lazies .....efficient managers recognize the strength of individuals and actually know how to utilize the strength of each worker.

according to me that type of person is set for entrepreneur because  entrepreneur is that one who generate new ideas and new plan for business

It depends how lazy he/she is. If their laziness is manageable then I'd put them in a position that doesn't require a lot of tasks at once, but rather one or two more important tasks.

as a manager, such a person would best perform at at the cashier were to much siting is done but most brain work is needed.

I will He/she put at his home ,,, and in another way i will tell him/her bye bye ....i cant stand lazy workers or employees,BECAUSE......

Not such a bad company to have been employed by I will say some LONG hours if you are a lead at one of these stores.Great team to work with and even great customers (sometimes) just Long wait times for customers on there items if they were imported I understand that but they didn't. Over all great place!

If a person is extremely intelligent bu lazy that means the work he is performing doesn't excite him much. It is a universal fact that a person becomes lazy if he loses interest in the work he is doing. So the first step would be to identify his area of interest. As a manager you should actually have a formal discussion with him/her to understand his/her interest. After that only you would be able to judge.

I think the best position of this kind of employees in the firm is the financial management, because it it do not requires a lot of physical work it just need an intelligent and very analytic mind.

well in my experience brilliant people are not lazy, unless you put them in wrong place, or you do't appreciate their work, if i was the manger than i love to go for reason , solve the problem and make maximum use of people's quality, and that's my motivation to achieve targets not only sale wise but management wise,
