In software development, how many years the person needs to be a team Leader or project manager?

At Least5 Years to become Team Lead At Least8 Years to become Project Manager

Person needs to have: - understanding the business area that software is developing for.
- solving conflicts between team members.
- knowing capabilities for each team members.
- knowing technology what is possible and what is not.
I know people that became leaders in4 years, but you need to have personality and quality added to experience to become one.

To be a project manager or team leader ,depends on many factors which contributes in identification of the project manager .samples of these factors are:1-good qualification
2- interpersonal skills
3- leadership ability4-comperhensive professional experience
5- Ambitious character with positive inclination for continuous learning and gaining knowledge.

In my opinion, it does not depend on number of years.
There are lot of factors that contribute to a team lead;1.
Are you a people person?,2.
Are you a patient, logical and analytical thinker?,3.
Do you have a good understanding of technologies mix?,4.
Can you articulate an enterprise scale application? And many more……

I think it doesn't depend on time , He/ She can be a hardworking learner and fabulous programmer if just He/She has that passion you know That's was my simple view Blesses

I think to be aTeam leader or project manager the numbers of years is not important..to be a team leader and a project manager is just on his /her hardworking and good learner..he /she should have good personality and experience to become one..

I think to be Team Leader or Project manager the number of years is not an important thing , that many of Team Leaders are not the largest by the age of30 years old , but i don't exactly know ....

That depend on, whether the team leader a college graduate or not.
in other word education qualifications are important in addition, number of hours in team leads the person put.
Large scale projects will qualify a person rapidly and effectively, also size of the company working for and number of the team members in these projects.
