I agree with Mr. Stanley's view as I feel the same. Thanks.
I can imagine it as a two-sided sword and can cut both ways.People are conscious of their social image on the social platform. Although, social media can be used to keep in touch with people, it is difficult to be relevant to everyone at the same time. Friendships needs nurture, time and personal attention. Social Media can definitely help in the engagement process if we use it as an extension of our own self and supplement it to other means of building friendship.
Social media has contributed in growing acquaintances or follower ship who can be converted to friends by engaging them on a personal level.
I have used social media technology in addition to online and offline events, phone calls and meetups to inform, create awareness and build relationships.
There is no substitute to face-to-face conversations, however social media and technology can help us market better and reacher a wider audience.
Just be yourself and be sure when to say any words or when to stop of talking better than say anything.
It has helped me gain contacts not friends.
obviously increase friendship
Gaining more friends in quantity.
Losing more friends in quality.
Contacts, yes. But friends, no.
It helped me to gain more (new) friends & lose old ones :(
