I prefer logos to be solid colors, bold and easily distinguishable. Gradients and intricate designs are not only confusing, but also not practical if the logo is being printed for various purposes.
I am personally not a fan of complex logos. I would love a simple logo with minimum 2 colors to make it readable and a catchy slogan if needed. 3 or more colors with a complex design might just make it unattractive.
Logo’s need to be functional – that work for the brand, rather than being just a pretty face. The ability for a logo to be versatile and integrate to the ethos of the brand is what makes a great logo.
