How to teach writing?

We can adopt a product approach and a process approach. In a product approach students are encouraged to mimic a model text, which is usually presented and analyzed at an early stage.

Whereas process approaches to writing tend to focus more on the varied classroom activities which promote the development of language use: brainstorming, group discussion, re-writing. Such an approach can have any number of stages, though a typical sequence of activities.

Writing is an  output . Reading is an input . Both are language skills . The more you read , the better writing is .. There must be a main topic or point and branching topics to follow. We may help the students on this. We write about what we know or what is familiar to us. In case of beginners , we may ask them to put senences in order later we ask them to summerize accounts of writing. We reminds them of INtroduction , details and conclusion

Thanks for invitation....I agree with best answers.

Without going into technical intricacies, I would like to answer in simple words. It will help all the learners; each level and each language.

- First of all it's important to know that writing and reading are co-skills, we have to write to improve reading and we need to read to improve writing. Reading and writing stuff can be selected according to age and comprehension group.

- We need vocabulary that is in accordance to the topic to write on. Definitely, vocabulary is learned through reading and dictionary at your own. Conversation with native speakers is another way to increase vocabulary.

- Generally every writing has three parts; introductory start, main text and the conclusion. We have to make sure that our students in writing have enough practice to comprehend these parts.

- Initially, use of small sentences is encouraged to avoid grammatical mistakes.

- When writing on a specific topic, sequence of events or the order of process should be maintained.

- It's better to divide your writing in small paragraphs. It is fascinating for the readers and encourage them to go through the entire text.

Now, coming on the answer to the real question:

- For a beginner, select interesting topics from the daily life to write on.

Example:1- Write your travel experience today from your home to the office.

2- What is your favourite game? Write about an interesting match that you enjoyed the most.

- You can select hard topics for the next level and so on.

- Always check their writing efforts in their presence or give accurate remarks on their worksheet to help them fix mistakes and errors.

- Don't forget to ensure proper use of punctuation by your learners.

- Always encourage their good effort but never discourage them with negative remarks. Errors can be pointed out in a gentle way.

- Give them practice task for repetitive errors until the problem gets fixed.

The language of super economical powers rules always. If the super power-ship transfers from English speaking countries to some other non English speaking country yes i am sure they will prefer their own language
