As end customer, should you ALWAYS take advantage of the discounts/promotions that are offered by the retailer/wholesaler/manufacturer?

Promotions often sound better than they are in reality. If the promotion truly is of benefit, then of course go for it. However, there are considerations that must be made. For example, it's often better to pay a higher price to buy something in a smaller quantity than it is to go for a bulk discount. Warehousing has a significant cost that may actually be considerably more than the amount saved in a bulk promotion. I personally prefer to buy as needed and to keep a minimum amount of stock on hand.

It is depending on the situation. The discount should not damage the quality and quantity of the product. Therefore, it is important to note at what point the discounts and promotions are important. Specially it is important to consider seasons like Christmas or New Year.

You can't take advantage of discount & promotion offered by multiple channel because each time you must have good knowledge of your current inventory & investment. 

There are many products that have specified shelf life so If you will over-stock then at the end of day it will result in loss rather than getting benefit from that promotion.

So as end customer you need to be very efficient with your planning and you must have good depth knowledge of products that you plan to buy.

Yes, the organisation should take the advantage of Promotion and discounts but there should be a forecast do we need the product in the future.

Discounts and Promotions are offered to end users mainly due to below reasons

1. To attract new customers

2. To promote a newly launched product

3. To reduce the inventory 

As an end user my decision depends on the actual requirement of the product. There are lots of factors like the quality of the product, Brand value, presentation of the product, savings made etc that will determine my decision to purchase the product.

As an end customer one must priorities/plan/identify the needs and if product is in the list then one should take full advantage of these kind of offers.

Sometimes discounts are not what they seem. Some discounts are markdowns of products that were intentionally marked up for a short time.

First we Need to check , they have any other intentions to provide discounts/ promotions which may not affect the product supply quality ,cost ,delivery or any terms agreed to supply.
