Google Analytics is a complete tool if configured and implemented properly to understand about your traffic, behaviour and conversion of customers. You can check how your website is acquiring traffic, what channels, and how they interact with your website. There are other tools available to understand about your customers, like HotJar and Crazy Egg, but they should be used in supplement to Google Analytics.

Your Social media platforms of the company need to be configured in order to understand what percentage of traffic is coming to website from social channels. There is trend to have separate landing pages with tags for traffic from social media like Facebook, twitter Linkedln.

In short Google Analytics helps you to understand your customer,w hat they want, and how you can improve your services in order to achieve your goals and objectives,

Google Analytics gives you the ability to fully understand how you're performing online. Having these facts at your disposable enables you to tell the correct story to your client at any given time. In terms of running paid advertising, how can you run an engaging, cost effective campaign without it? For social media platforms, blogs, etc  it's a very useful addition to the built in analytics on these platforms.

Google Analytics gives you a complete picture about your website performance and  the statistics you need to improve your web presence. But for social media platforms it is better to use their tools to get the engagement, interactions, and impressions of every specific platform.

While Google analytics can be very useful because it allows to see where traffic comes from as well as keywords, page views etc. However, its business model may prevent further information to be seen since the platform is freemium; a user has to pay to use all features.

There also exist free, full-featured tools which offer more features and easier to use; Hootsuite most notable.
