A good lesson plan should contain the target vocabulary and the target curriculum standards related to the lesson. A good beginning (warm-up), middle (presentation and practice) and an end (plenary) should be clearly emphasized. For an English class, it should give emphasis to the different language skills such listening, speaking, reading and writing. It should also clearly explain what the teacher would aim to attain at the end of the lesson (learning/teaching objectives) both in a teacher's perspective and on a student's perspective. It also has to contain teaching/learning strategies in every activities that will be tackled in the lesson. It should clearly states what is the teacher's role and the students' role accordingly, to be able to know if a student centred classroom would be achieved in the process. We can also consider adding a moral value that could be related or the teacher would like the students to learn. Most importantly, a self teaching/learning reflection is a vital component of a good lesson plan.
