Blue screen of death is a stop error which usually occurs to prevent more damage to system. Most of time you get BSOD due to wrong installation of hardware drivers. Most helpful and first step toward troubleshooting to fix this problem is to boot your computer and select option "last known good configuration" by pressing F8 during bootup.

If there was no recent hardware driver was installed then second step is to check the random access memory, if there are more than two sticks of rams installed then make sure all of them are with same PC speed (Mhz.) like PC2700, PC3200 etc. Usually its written on the RAM Stick.

If above procedures are not helpful then a Virus might have caused some damage to system files, download a live CD for AVG or bit defender h which is free to download and have a scan, hopefully that will fix the problem.

This was just an overview for troubleshooting for begginers to intermediate leverl users, for website address, I think website advised by Mostafa is good for checking the codes.

A Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), technically called a STOP error, occurs when Windows suffers a serious error and is forced to "stop" completely -this BSOD appears usually because of A memory related Problem -.

Since a blue screen error gives you no choice but to restart, troubleshooting one can be difficult. Luckily, almost every STOP error includes a STOP code that can be used to research a fix.

I listed below some Websites that Contain most of the Stop Codes :
