An old lady had called in . She had purchased a new computer. It was running on Vista (the OS that windows had launched after xp but before win7). The printer that  was compatible with XP was not responding. At1st the customer could not understand me. She was from Oklahoma  and I from Calcutta. Now people from California and NewYork  and other coastal towns have to interact with foreigners and they can understand a foreign accent of English. But this was mid –west and she kept on telling me transfer me to an American . I tried to calm her down. I said this was a global routing process and if she disconnected the call may land anywhere in the world and there was no guarantee that she would be speaking to an American. I added that I was located in India , half  a  world and many time zones away. That it was midnight here though it was near noon in her location. That I come from a different cultural back ground . I could have a different accent but I would speak slowly and if at any time she did not understand a trouble shooting step to be done I would be glad to repeat. The issue was resolved by downloading the printer driver from the internet. It took a long time. I understood she was not that tech savvy though very knowledgeable other wise (She immediately recognized where Calcutta was and said she always wanted to meet Mother Teresa)and I had to tell her to click on the red cross at the top right corner to close a window. I remained patient and at the end of the call she thanked me. She gave me a9 out of ten. It was my1st c-sat or customer delighted survey.

working in the jewelry dept as a jewelry specialist in a Dept store.after i punched out to take my break i was walking thru the store to leave when a customer heard my foot steps behind him, he turned around and said excuse  me but do you work here? i replied yes, he stated his name and that he was blind,he asked if i would assist him in helping him pick out some clothes for him, i smiled even though i  did not work in  the clothing dept  and my specialty  jewelry ,knowing my lunch break was only a half hour,i let the customer take my arm and led himthru the store  to the mens dept .i asked him his shirt ,pants an undergarment sizes it took about an hour and a half to help him shop, for everything that he needed ,we finally made our way to the check outs, he thanked me for my kindness and assistance, even though i didnt get to take any breaks that day and  punched back into work late wich i was docked some of my pay,,it felt good to provide exceptional customer service
