When he/she feels the importance of his/her contribution to the organization's success

**** *** The individual’s’ self-esteem and self-confidence needs have to me met for him/her to be happy at work. *** ****

In my opinion, the question of employee happiness needs to be tackled at different levels and can vary from group to group. I say group to group because we cannot customise the organization to each individual but surely it is possible at a group level.

Typically employees that are working in semi-skilled or front-line professionals have the necessity to fulfil their first and second levels of needs such as a pay that helps them meet their needs, and then create an environment of security and stability.

As the hierarchy and/ or tenure of an individual in an organization increases the need to be recognized as a person that adds value and contributes to the success, growth and purpose of the organization is very important to make the person a happy employee play a key role in employee happiness index.

If the person can feel that the working a particular place is either directly linked to or helps him/her move towards his/her purpose in life that is the highest level of happiness and employee can have, usually the founding team and pilot teams in successful organizations tend to look at themselves this way.

Job satisfaction and good working environment are the main elements to make the employee happy.

Depends on his needs, so define the employee motives firstly.

In extremely simple terms, its the enviroment he works in. Stressful Enviroment, Unfair Politics, Extra Long working hours which comes as a demand instead of a request etc are factors causing an employee to loose intrest in the company and ultimately leaving the organization.

I personally believe that Employers should worry less about the customer and care more for the employee. A happy/satisfied employee works for the company as if its his own (enterprunership) and goes a furthur mile ahead to give customer satisfaction than what the company could ever ask for.

Do not treat employes as childer, treat them as leaders of the future. Respect their point of view, take them into consideration, let them be a small part of a big decision. Make them feel that they are more than just employees.
