One changes his job for a better one, of course. The following are some, but not all,  adverse factors that make you quit your job:

- Low salary.

-Hostile work environment.

- Dead-end job-i.e. no prospects of promotion and advancement.

- Job location- far away from home, difficult location, etc.

-No professional progress- training, seminars, etc.

On the other hand, the new job may be more appealing in terms of salary, work environment, career ladder, professional advancement, and/ or location.  That is there are deterring factors associated with the old job, and attracting factors wih the new one.

Job satisfaction leads to enjoying the work and boost performance.

Before taking a decision, do a self assessment and try identifying the reasons. If solutions are available to overcome it then take it as a challenge with all humility to meet your objective. I am sure you will get internal support as no organisation wishes to leave their resources.

Change can always be the last option.

I have a different say on this:

Satisfaction is only a temperory state of when an individual tries to find comfortness in the existing atmosphere.

If doesn't find then he will try to shift into different atmosphere to attain satisfaction level.

The people who work for longer periods, the difference is they will try and become part of the environment which creates the atmosphere.

If you have been experienced less acknowledgement  or severe behavior from boss then  go for it. Otherwise, if it due to some challenging role then give it a2nd thought.

yes its million dollar question, i have almost20years of management experience and changed almost nine companies in this period. my point of view is that dont change the organisation for any specific person because if you are running out , he may also leave the company. so the reason for leaving any job must be your own choice and for a good reason.  if you are growing in the company at desirable pace, earning good, learning fine, having good envirement , have nice reputation, chances of improvement in position , then stay and wait for proper time to come, if its reverse than find another place for your talent . good luck in your future.
