It was 2001, and I found myself on the look out for a suitable assignment where I could apply my expertise in the exciting arena of Change Management. This development was unplanned; due to the fact that another job opportunity, which I had been banking on, had suddenly gone to someone else.

I was searching for a job that would give me an opportunity to practice my craft - which includes modern management tools such as Balanced Scorecard, Strategic Planning, BPR (Business Process Re-engineering), ISO and Benchmarking. My needs were unique indeed. I was looking for a position that offered a rare combination of both consulting and full-time employment.

Through friends and professionals from the HR and IT fields, I heard of Bayt.com and thought of checking it out.

Bayt.com is a user-friendly website. It's easy to navigate. Even better, I did not have to invest too much time or energy in zeroing in on my target job. Through the job search options Bayt.com provides, I found an exciting opening with Union National Bank (UNB).

It seemed as if UNB was looking for ME - literally. It was a senior position in their Strategic Planning & Risk Management Division. The icing on cake was the fact that it provided me with an opportunity to be a banker.

I am indeed very thankful to Bayt.com for not only rescuing my career (especially when one considers the fact that I was on the wrong side of 40s!) but also for helping me "re-brand" my professional profile. I had always wanted to add "Banking" to my long list of industries that I have been exposed to. It's rare to find a new and challenging job in a new industry, given my unusual circumstances.

Such breakthroughs come once in a lifetime. I have been with UNB for about 2 years now and have adjusted very well in my new assignment. Miracles do happen!
