Our client is a leading Saudi group with an excellent reputation across the region. They have a specialist Automotive, Coaches, Buses & Luxury Car section representing some of the leading bus and car companies from around the world.

We are looking for a highly experienced VP with strong experience in managing a transport division in buses & coaches to be based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Managing the Transport Division of a large fleet of over 1,000 Diesel buses and coaches including maintenance and running, large contracts with Saudi ministries and corporate clients.

The GM will translate the company vision through the successful delivery of targets undertaken in line with strategic objectives, an effective running of current operations, development of competent leadership and management of a multifunctional team that is goal driven and customer focused.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in developing the overall vision, mission and strategic direction in line with corporate strategy
• Develop the short term business plan
• Review and recommend the annual budget and manpower plan
• Responsible for the overall profitability
• Improve asset profitability
• Ensure perfect maintenance and running of all transportation including servicing and repairs
• Assume a full responsibility of day-to-day operational decisions
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of all reports and data required by the BOD
• Ensure opportunities to raise the business performance repudiation, are identified and fully capitalized on
• Establish and periodically analyze Key Performance Indicators and continually monitor performance against the agreed targets
• Ensure continuous development and improvement of business processes to ensure optimal use of available resources
• Ensure the implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls as set out by the Corporate
• Provide leadership and inspiration to staff, ensuring employees take pride in meeting and surpassing individual and departmental objectives
• Monitor market trend and changes as well as competitors in the market, and recommends proactive and corrective actions to mitigate risks associated with external threats
• Market company image to the local and regional business community as a professional dealer in the automotive sector
• Maintain excellent relationships with corporate and governmental contracts

About the Job:

We are currently looking to recruit a Transport Supervisor to work from our Jebel Ali based operations. Reporting to the Transport Operations Manager, you role will be to ensure overall operational supervision of the transport team and its resources with the aim of achieving on-time, safe and efficient deliveries of cargo transported locally (via road) to key internal and external clients.
Your main duties will include the following:

- Supervise the operations of Local Transport, which includes:

- Container movements

- Sideloader activities

- Tautliner, box vans and trailer deliveries

- Pick-up and all related local distribution

- Ensure efficient and effective daily planning of the Local Transport activities, including:

- Route planning

- Driver allocation

- Resource and fleet utilisation

- Supervise and mentor drivers and planners on a daily basis

- Ensure daily co-ordination and communication with customers, transport sub-contractors and transport team members

- Communicate with internal customers (primarily the freight department) to ensure all delivery requests are executed on time and as per the SLA

- Conduct site inspections for new areas of delivery where necessary

- Ensure that administrative staff are capturing all required data e.g. trip-sheets, fuel records, tracking reports and KPI data

- Monitor all trip records for billing purposes

- Record daily VOR and vehicle idle time

- Ensure close monitoring of all driver document submissions e.g. fuel slips, trip sheets and pre trip inspections

- Communicate daily planning information to the line manager so as to assist with improving fleet efficiency and reduction of vehicle running costs
