• Participate in Equipment commissioning (Aviation and LOBP).
• Manage work at site to avoid interface.
• Supervise Aviation / lubes Equipment modifications.
• Follow up and reporting technical provision to airports / LOBP.
• Carry out periodic inspections (according to company schedule) for airports / LOBP.
• Develop book value for the project at end to identify depreciation value for each item.
• Communicate and contact airport authorities or others to get the required permits either prior or during project execution stages.

The Opportunity

Cape is offering ten Graduate Trainee positions, worldwide, leading to international assignments, following an intensive 21 months program.

This is a demanding assignment aimed at hard working graduates, with a practical down-to-earth, approach to their work; who are quick learners, strong team players, proactive, self-motivated and have a real sense of ownership. You will be customer and commercially focused, be open to new experiences and you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

The Program

This will commence with a 3 months placement at our APAC Training Centre in Manila, which will cover both practical hands-on training in our key disciplines; Health and Safety procedures; Commercial and Estimating and Project Management, leading to a range of certifications. Future progress on the Program is conditional on securing all certifications. Following this, participants will work individually alongside a Cape Project Manager on a selected project within their Region for 9 months, followed by a further 9 months assignment carrying specific personal responsibilities.

JOB SUMMARY

Conduct qualitative & quantitative physical and chemical analysis on raw materials, intermediate and finished lubricants productions, third party manufactured products, in-service oils and complaint samples from customers. Investigate and report quality related complaints.

Ensure that all the testing is carried out as per prescribed laboratory procedures, standard test methods and consistent with the company Quality Management System.

Maintain all the analytical instruments in working conditions and up to-date with respect to required calibration standards.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Finished Lubricants Testing
Test the blending/filling samples received from production to ensure that the product conforms to the product specification as mentioned in the respective product formulation sheets. It includes:
• Confirm the formulation on the Batch Ticket Report against the control formulation sheet before actual blending.
• Receive the blend/filling samples and test against the required parameters as per product specs sheet.
• Confirm to batch status through Oracle if the sample is passed or rejected and update the test report and log book.
• Advise adjustment to production and test another sample if the product is not cleared in initial testing, update records accordingly.
• Advise production to quarantine the product if it is off-spec. and adjustment is not possible. Take Chief Chemist’s advice for rework options.

Raw Materials Testing
Test the raw material sample against the purchase specifications and ensure that all the received material is on-specifications. It includes:
• Receive log & test the sample along with Material Receiving & Testing Report (MRTR) & Certificate of Analysis (CoA) from supplier.
• Test against purchase specifications and report to Raw Material Supervisor to update status in the system.
• Consult Chief Chemist for advice if the repeated sample fails.

Calibration of Laboratory Instruments
Perform calibration of all the lab instruments as per the test method or procedure in the user manual by the OEM to ensure that all the instruments are up to date and give accurate results.
• Review the annual calibration calendar at the start of the month and carry out calibration accordingly.
• Calibrate the instrument using the reference standards and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and update the calibration card and maintain the records.

ISO/QMS Documentation
Maintain all the required documents as per Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standard to ensure product quality, traceability, ISO requirements and audit purpose. It includes:
• Ensure that all the QMS processes are followed and all required forms are used.
• Maintain all quality records for external/internal audits.

Pilot Blends
Prepare the pilot blends of finished product on the advice of chief chemist to finalize the treat rate of different ingredients of formulation.
• Make the pilot blend of the products as per the treat rate of ingredients received from the Chief Chemist and test against specified tolerance limits.
• Make adjustments in the composition on Chief Chemist’s advice, if the initial blend doesn’t give the required results. Test the adjusted blend and report to Chief Chemist.

Used Oil Analysis
Test the used oil samples against respective parameters to help customer/sales monitor the performance of the equipment and/or lubricant in use. It Includes:
• Receive, log and test the sample as per the respective required tests.
• Prepare the test report & forward to Chief Chemist.

Customer Complaints
Test customers’ samples and/or returned sample against required parameters to help investigate the root cause for the issue/complaint raised by customer. It includes:
• Receive the sample and check for the required information.
• Test the sample and report the results to Chief Chemist.

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides professional and timely advice on law-related matters, finalizing commercial contracts, resolving disputes through investigation, register/renew trademarks and deal legal issues, to limit the risks of litigation, by analyzing and extending legal advice to the related functions within the organization, review legal documents and make sure they are effectively drafted and interpreted.

Acts as a focal point for the collection of bad debts from customers and contributes to define/re-write company policies from a legal perspective as assigned projects.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Company Contracts

Prepare and oversee the company’s contracts with vendors, suppliers, customers and service providers to protect company’s interest and to ensure that contracts are according to the laws. This includes:
• Receive a “brief” of supplier proposal from function to prepare a detailed draft contract. Ask for missing information.
• Send draft contract to concerned for review & comments.
• Raise/discuss the queries if required.
• Prepare the final contract and send to concerned for signatures of both parties.

Legal Cases (External)

Prepare the memorandum for the legal cases filed by the customers/staff/vendors raised against company to be sent to company’s legal representative or external law office to defend company’s interests in the court. This includes:
• Receive the “Summon” from the court, specifying claim against company and a deadline to respond.
• Make the memorandum in consultation with the concerned department.
• Forward the memorandum to the appointed law office to defend the case in the cout.
• Keep management up-t-date regarding pending court cases.

Legal Advice

Provide legal professional assistance to all departments on request to assist them to tackle their legal issues. This includes:
• Receive requests with a brief on the issue and interview to get further details and documents if required.
• Analyze the issue from legal perspective and local laws, and advise accordingly.

Bad Debt Collection

Steer the collection of the bad debts of customers by receiving request from concerned Vice president to take legal action to recover the money. This includes:
• Receive the request from the concerned Vice president.
• Decide whether to go direct to the court or to enter in payment plan and issue legal notice accordingly specifying the time frame to respond.
• Furnish regular report to management to update debt status.

Registration of Trade Marks

Register/renew the company’s trademarks locally and internationally to protect company’s trade marks to be used illegally by other parties. This includes:
• Receive request from Marketing to register a specific logo/trade mark with territories to be registered.
• Formalize the request & forward to registration agency for required local/international registration.
• Deal with the objections raised for the registration requests by the respective registration authority.
• Monitor the expiry of registration and get it renewed in consultation with marketing.

Investigation and Inquiry

Carry out the investigation and respond to queries related to labor/staff issues to identify any violation of company’s policies and laws to protect company’s interests. This includes:
• Receive request from President & CEO to conduct investigation/inquiry against company regulations & labor laws.
• Interview the concerned staff and investigate the root cause along with appointed committee.
• Forward recommendations to President & CEO for any action to be taken or otherwise.

Projects

Be a part of committee to review/design company’s policies & procedure to meet management requests to ensure the policies and procedures are working appropriately serving business interests. This includes:
• Review/design policies as per as per management discretion.
• Forward the recommendations to management for review and approval.

Is responsible to provides professional advice on law-related matters. Reviews legal related matters and makes sure they are drafted & interpreted according to business need. Maintains & records all related legal issues raised by or against the company.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works on legal matters such as new agreements, reviewing existing agreements issue necessary documents to meet the requirements of multinational laws & maintain the international companies correct legal position.
• Maintains custody of legal documents to ensure copyright handing.
• Provides a legal advice on the potential liability, in order to take necessary steps to control the company exposure.
• Reviews all commercial contracts that company enters to ensure its interest are safe guarded.
• Formulates, provides, advises and / or reviews all contracts agreements between the company, third parties to ensure that the company’s interest is protected and the best commercial position maintained. To ensure the company’s interests are fully protected and redress of grievance obtained.

• Presents and summarizes cases to all level of courts.
• Evaluates findings and develop strategies and presentation of cases.
