    Merchandise Manager

    Description du poste

    The Merchandise Manager main responsibility is to develop a seasonal and annual buying budget in line with the company financial plans.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Responsible for submitting gross margin yearly forecast for business approval.

    • Achieve gross margin target through effective stock management.

    • Monitor sells through rate in order to achieve and exceed stock turn targets.

    • Define product range allocation per store based on store profile.

    • Establish pricing policy based on competitors analysis and in line with agreed gross margin.

    • Regularly generate and review stock performance reports and takes corrective actions as and when necessary.

    • Plan and execute end of season markdowns in line with terminal stock budget.

    • Regularly analyze the competition and be aware of new trends and communicates findings to line manager.

    • Carry out seasonal range reviews and provides line manager with recommendations for future purchases.

    • Supervises warehouse and logistic operation.

    • Plan and supervises store and warehouse inventories.

    • Supervise logistic team to ensure proper follow up on incoming deliveries to prevent delays.

    • Regularly communicates with store team and carry out store visits to ensure new products have been launched and displayed as per plan.

    • Develop a range of in store promotional activities and ensure sufficient stock volume is purchased to support such activities.

    • Minimize end of season clearance markdown by taking in-season active pricing corrections and specific volume driving offers.

    • Liaise with the IT department to ensure all stock movements have been updated and reconciled in the system.

    • Liaise with Finance Department and ensure all product suppliers’ invoices have been received and paid as per agreed schedule.

    Compétences

    • Currently working as senior merchandiser for an established retailer.

    • Analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

    • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Power Point as well as ERP systems.

    • Good organizational and interpersonal skills across all levels with great attention to details and accuracy.

    • Fluency in English written and spoken is a must, Arabic would be an advantage.
