JOB PURPOSE:
Implementation of Risk Management programs to protect the bank from potential loss, key risk indicators, lost event database etc as coordinated with Head Office.
Implementation of systems, policies and procedures for monitoring assessing and measuring all potential risks such as Credit, Operational and market risks and to evaluate & make appropriate amendments to mitigate the risks.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
CREDIT RISK
1. Ensures effective evaluation and analysis of corporate credit portfolio.
• Efficient credit administration
• Execution of legal documents
• Inputting credit limit information into the system
• Exposure against the limit and controls, etc.
• Monitors corporate remedial credit, controls past due credits
• Updates the bank’s credit policy and relevant guidelines and procedures
• Timely processing of credit applications
• Assessing client's ability to meet debt obligations
2. Compiles data from credit history and financial statements. Analyses Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and other financial data such as income growth, quality of management, market share; compares liquidity, profitability, and credit history with similar organizations in same industry and geographic location; generates financial ratios to evaluate financial status.
3. Evaluates, recommends, and implements changes in methods, processes, and procedures related to credit to improve customer service and maintain business objectives.
4. Assigns monitors and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work. Familiarizes employees with established credit policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Provides technical guidance on the more complex issues
5. Ensure that Existing and future corporate commitments & investments are managed in accordance with a system & processes.
6. Confer with credit association and other business representatives to exchange credit information
7. Extract market current economic and credit situation reports
8. Uses modelling tools and own market intelligence to make forecasts and projections around company finances and report setting out facts for Head Office and credit committee
9. Participate in conducting peer analysis and benchmark
RISK CONTROL
10. Takes appropriate action if there is misusage of facilities and corrective action is recommended
11. Contributes to formulation of the Risk Management policies and procedures as well as Internal control and the Risk Dashboard.
12. Monitor the Existing and future commitments & investments are managed in accordance with system & processes. Also monitor the implementation of procedures to track possible risk triggers and accordingly amend such triggers.
13. Participates in the various cross-functional teams for multiple purposes covering the credit part, to achieve optimal cooperation and to assume seamless quality service
14. Maintains updated knowledge of rules, regulations and standards in the field and related matters of interest to the department.
15. Ensures that operational risks are well managed and controlled through effective implementation such as self assessment, key risk indicators, lost-event database, etc
16. Provides guidance and recommendation in resolving complex or sensitive problems, Maintains and promotes positive employee relations in the work environment.
17. Investigates incidents involving procedure losses, partial losses or total procedure failures and recommends appropriate corrections to enhance the operational performance.
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS & SHARIAH
18. Comply with Regulator's; Laws, regulations & instructions & Shariah Compliance Banking
19. Conducts stress testing as guided by CBK on the credit portfolio.
OTHERS
20. Exercise control over interest rate and currency in consultation with Head Office
21. Performs other duties in line with scope of work and as instructed by the Head of Risk.
Compétences
Required Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines as a minimum in; accounting or finance, Master or MBA Favorable.
Required Experience:
Preferable with 5-7 years minimum experience in Credit Risk in peer bank
Required Job-Specific Skills:
• Good analytical & evaluation skills with focus on risk & mitigants.
• Command of basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
• Command of Arabic & English languages
Able to communicate with counterparts
