The Brand:
From our base in Kuwait, we support all areas of our retail and warehouse operations. At the close of each trading day, all sales figures and stock movements are downloaded to our head office and to our partners via our secure state-of-the-art IT system. Careful analysis allows the correct decisions to be taken for each individual business unit. EPOS technology is installed in every outlet in each country, and a web enabled communications network is in place. Each international brand has its own dedicated management team to service their particular requirements.

The Role:
The Technical Systems Manager reporting to the IT Director will lead a team of people and provide expertise in areas relating to network engineering, implementation, operations and support.

Responsibilities::
- Oversee network technology design, production for converged data networks including performance, availability, capacity planning, recoverability, root cause determination and problem resolution
- Direct the development, implementation and administration of processes and procedures to ensure the reliability, recoverability, and optimum performance of network infrastructure systems and solutions.
- Refine and/or redefine existing 24x7 monitoring metrics and response criteria.
- Collaborate with the Service Management team to enhance monitoring capabilities and services.
- Partner closely with application teams to ensure success of key business initiatives through innovative use of technology.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and counseling in technical and non-technical areas to the Network Services Team.
- Develop a highly skilled staff through education, mentoring and continual evaluation of employee development.
- Support the Network Infrastructure strategic planning process.
- Work closely with and manage strategic outsource and vendor partner relationships.

Compétences

- 12 years experience in network administration for a large, multi-site IT environment
- 8 years experience in WAN design and architecture, including familiarity with both IPSEC VPN and MPLS circuits
- 8 years administrating routers, switches, and concentrators
- 5 years architecting and deploying secure wireless LAN environments
- Telecommunications architecture and vendor management
- Application performance tuning / acceleration in a WAN environment
- Network troubleshooting, including the use of packet sniffers
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical field
