Senior Mechanical Engineer

Main Operations:

- Abides by company by-laws including policies and procedures and proposes changes to the above when necessary.

- Abides by the authorities granted to the position as per the delegation of authority structure.

- Discuss the objectives, requirements, and assist the MEP Manager for budget of the project.

- Assist the MEP Manager preparing tender applications and presentations for the client to review.

- Ensure that the designed items are functional, safe, and economical and suit the needs of the people who use them.

- Attend meetings on site with the Consultant & the Contractor.

- Reviews estimates, applies applicable building codes/standards, fire regulations, permits and bids Construction drawings.

- Participate and assist in value engineering workshops with the Consultant and the contractor and recommend eventual economic solution to enhance the project overall cost.

- Assist the MEP Manager in solving Mechanical problems that might occur during the construction.

- Recommend necessary changes throughout the planning process.

- Review the Mechanical submittals (shop drawings & materials) submitted by the Contractor to the Consultant, comments and recommend the action to be taken by the MEP Manager.

- Visits the site as required, to check on the Mechanical works’ progress and ensuring that the project is running without mechanical troubles.

- Works closely with the Contractor & the Consultant and ensure that works are carried out are as per the approved drawings & complying with the
specifications, and that any problems that arise are quickly resolved.

- Review and approval of Mechanical items in mockups.

- Supervise the inspections where possible and the defect repair.

- Review the Analysis & Interpretation of tests results.

- Any additional task assigned by superior / reporting head.
- Perform design when required


Communication

Internal:
- Daily meeting with MEP Manager to discuss and resolve project issues.

External:
- As required contacts with Consultants.

- As required contacts with suppliers and sub contractors.

Compétences

Education: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 15 years of experience in Project related Mechanical activities.
