Company's Contribution to Business Sector Hailed.

Bayt.com, the leading online recruitment resource in the Arab world, came in for special recognition for its outstanding achievements in the IT world, by being awarded the 2002 Arabian Business "e-Entrepreneur of the Year" Award recently.

The 2002 Arabian Business e-Achievement Awards, held under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Defence Minister of the UAE, honoured individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the region's "knowledge economy" and were given away at a gala dinner hosted for key international and regional IT industry leaders by the Information and Technology Publishing (ITP) Company on Monday, October 14th, 2002.

"We are delighted to award Rabea Ataya from Bayt.com the eEntrepreneur of the Year Award," explained Walid Akawi, Publisher, ITP. "Despite plenty of competition in the online recruitment business, Bayt.com has grown from strength to strength and achieved operational profitability. The company has exercised operational discipline, spent its marketing budget wisely and managed to build a widely recognised brand."

Bayt.com's Chief Executive Officer Rabea Ataya was selected for the award by a highly distinguished panel of IT and business professionals who included Ibrahim Al Hashemi of the Dubai World Trade Centre, Salem Al Shaer of Dubai E-Government, Gilbert Lacroix of Intel, Steve Lockie from Tech Data, Ali Baghdadi of Aptec, Mohammed Kateeb of Microsoft, Farid Metwaly of IBM, Joseph Hanania of Hewlett Packard, Michael Collins of Dell, Hussam Dajani from Oracle, Walid Akawi of ITP and Hasan Abdul Rahman from Arabian Business Magazine.

Ataya joined a high-caliber list of winners to be honoured by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed during that event. Other winners included Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Kingdom Holdings, and Mohammed Al Sharekh, Chairman of Sakhr Software.

Expressing his pleasure after receiving the award, Ataya said: "The award is a unique distinction and a further endorsement of Bayt.com's position as the leading full service recruitment provider. We are proud of what we have achieved in less than two years of operations. Our team is poised to continue to expand our service and product offering and to fulfil our vision of being an admired and respected indispensable online extension of people's lives."

In an era of dotcom crashes, Bayt.com has remained one step ahead of competition by successfully adapting to new trends and changing the traditional recruiting process in the region. The company and its young team have exercised operational discipline and managed to build a widely recognised brand, establishing eight offices throughout the Middle East to meet the growing demand for their services.
