The aim of this HR Research Report on Top Industries in the Middle East is to gauge professionals' opinions about industry sectors in their residence countries in the Middle East & North Africa and to understand which industries are most popular, which industries attract top talent and which industries struggle to attract, retain & motivate professional talent on the job. Job Seekers were spread across employment/career hubs in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt.

In this research, key Middle East HR issues that were analyzed and addressed include:

  • Most preferred industries: those that offer the best jobs, best salaries, best benefits and a good work-life balance. The research sheds light on consumer and employee sentiments with regard to each industry and thus, points out which industries are likely to attract top talent in the Middle East and which industries in the Middle East are struggling to attract top talent , motivate talent and retain them.
  • The proportion of employees and JobSeekers, across the Middle East, who have changed their industry or are likely to do so in the near future ie professional turnover data in the Middle East. This sheds light on pending shortages of talent for industries facing such erosion and possible surfeits of qualified employees for those industries perceived to be most attractive and offering the highest/best benefits and best working conditions and work-life balance in the Middle East.

Respondents' Profile: Professionals holding jobs in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa at all career levels and across all industries were included in this Middle East HR Research Survey including professionals holding jobs in banking, financial services, IT, engineering, architecture, human resources, media, advertising, marketing, sales, government, consulting, publishing and other key employment sectors in the Middle East.

2. Mohd Javed AnsariNice report, however banking/finance as a top industry needs to be looked at carefully because when this data was collected, there was no global recession or it had just started. The banking/finance industry is the worst hit by the global meltdown. A fresh survey and research may bring out better and updated results.
