About the Job:

We need to recruit an experienced candidate to be part of the Government Relations Team based in Muscat, Oman.Duties and Responsibilities include:

- Provide advanced coordination and presentation of department communications, research and daily interactions with government representatives.
- Research, monitor, analyze, and evaluate legislation and regulation issues that may have an impact on Al Futtaim to determine needs for action and recommend action to be taken.
- Draft proposals and legislation that accurately reflect the interests of Al Futtaim.
- Develop and implement a communication program to keep Oman's management informed on governmental issues affecting Al Futtaim at all levels.
- Maintain formal, collaborative relations between Al Futtaim's Office of Government Relations and all governmental entities to ensure coordinated approach on government relations at all levels.

Project / business overview

The project is phase 1 of a 6 year plan to upgrade staff accommodation. Phase 1 consists of 241 residential units comprising apartments and villas, a mosque, playing field, changing rooms, associated infrastructure and landscaping. The total built up area is in the region of 70,000sqm. The development will be of a high quality and construction will be cognisant of the exposed location and long term commitment that the PDO has to the maintenance of the built elements. Some demolition of existing villas will be necessary in order to provide a platform for the new build.
Key role objective

The principal function of this position is:
Provide personal assistance to the SRE
Maintain registers for all incoming and outgoing correspondence
Maintain clearly identified filing system
Prepare control paperwork including document flow and simple cover letters
Maintain log of all inspection requests, submittals and RFIs from the contractor and responses from the team, when necessary, chase team members for timely responses.
Maintain log of NCRs
Prepare and circulate correspondence day files
Maintain list of required responses to the Client
Assist in maintaining KPI registers
Assist in preparation of weekly and monthly reports
Maintain electronic records of staff diaries
Maintain backup of all electronic files

The priorities of this role include:
Maintain on-line document control system in accordance with project protocol
Assist in preparation of contract deliverables in Microsoft software
Provide admin support to site staff
Provide liaison between site staff and other offices

Relevant site supervision experience in the Middle East (mixed use and/or housing)

Qualification & Education:
Minimum CCNA Certified
