Founded in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1924 by British expatriate Arthur Rawdon Spinney, Spinneys is today one of the Middle East's most iconic brands. The Spinneys Group operates 6 wholly owned hypermarkets and supermarkets in Lebanon, 2 in Egypt, and has a franchise agreement in the UAE. It provides the highest quality produce, grocery, and baked goods at a fair price in a fresh and friendly environment recognized and sought after by customers. As the premium supermarket retailer in the region, Spinneys is in the middle of a substantial expansion, which will take it into new territories – North Africa and Asia - as well as regions where it has historically had a presence, such as the Gulf and the Middle East. Within the next few months, Spinneys will open a new shop in Doha, Qatar.
