Wataneya Society, established since November 2008, is the first NGO in Egypt that aims at developing, applying and advocating for the Quality Standards for Alternative Care. Wataneya successfully participated in developing the Quality standards manual that was mandated by the Ministry of Social Solidarity nationwide in Egypt in June 2014, under the ministerial decree No.188. Wataneya established the first internationally accredited training center in the Middle East by Pearson in the field of childcare to qualify caregivers. Wataneya works on a number of interventions in parallel to ensure quality standards are applied in institutional homes; this includes child and youth development programs, institutional development and caregiver development
To create a future of equal opportunities for children and youth without parental care through unifying the standards in institutional homes and applying all aspects of care and services entailed in the standards.
