Job Title: Plastic Factory Manager

Reports To: Operations Director / General Manager

Job Summary

The Plastic Factory Manager plans, coordinates, and supervises all manufacturing activities within the factory. This role ensures efficient production processes, optimal use of resources, compliance with quality and safety standards, and continuous improvement of plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

• Plan and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Ensure production targets are achieved on time and within budget.
• Monitor machine utilization and production efficiency.
• Coordinate injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, or other plastic manufacturing processes.

Quality Control

• Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Implement and maintain quality management systems.
• Investigate production defects and implement corrective actions.

Team Leadership

• Supervise production supervisors, technicians, operators, and support staff.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate employees.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

• Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.

Maintenance and Equipment Management

• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Minimize equipment downtime.
• Evaluate and recommend machinery upgrades or new equipment purchases.

Inventory and Supply Chain Management

• Monitor raw material consumption and inventory levels.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Reduce waste and improve material utilization.

Cost Control and Continuous Improvement

• Analyze production costs and identify savings opportunities.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other improvement initiatives.
• Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs).

Reporting

• Prepare production, quality, safety, and financial reports.
• Present operational performance data to senior management.
• Develop action plans to improve factory performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing.
• 3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of plastic processing technologies (injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, thermoforming, etc.).
• Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing KPIs.
