The Role

Are you ready to join the team of software engineering experts at Kyndryl? We are seeking a talented Software Engineering Technical Specialist to contribute to our software engineering space and provide critical skills required for the development of cutting-edge products.  

• Administer and manage Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Ansible Tower (Controller)
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and inventories
• Automate:
  • Configuration management
  • Provisioning and deployments
  • Patch management and routine operations [hirist.tech]
• Manage and optimize automation workflows and job templates
• Provide end-to-end operational support and troubleshooting for Ansible platform
• Integrate Ansible with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
• Monitor platform performance and ensure high availability
• Implement security, compliance, and access control policies
• Maintain documentation (runbooks, playbooks, SOPs)
• Collaborate with DevOps, Cloud, and Application teams for automation initiatives

Your aim throughout, is to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of services through the use of technology and technical methods and methodologies.
Driving the design, development, integration, delivery, and evolution of highly scalable distributed software you will integrate with other layers and offerings. You will provide deeper functionality and solutions to address customer needs. You will work closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and partner teams to get high-quality products and features through the agile software development lifecycle.
Your continuous grooming of features/user stories to estimate, identify technical risks/dependencies and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders will ensure the features are delivered with the right quality and within timeline. You will maintain and drive the clearing of technical debt, vulnerabilities, and currency of the 3rd party components within the product.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Core Ansible Platform Skills
Strong experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) / Ansible Tower / AWX
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Ansible Automation Platform clusters
Managing inventories, projects, credentials, and job templates
Writing and maintaining playbooks, roles, and collections
Managing execution environments (EE) and containerized automation execution
Experience with Ansible Galaxy and custom collections
System Administration & Infrastructure
Strong background in Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu)
User and RBAC management in Ansible Platform
Knowledge of network automation (routers, switches, firewalls)
Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) automation through Ansible
Integration with external credential stores (HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, etc.)
Automation & DevOps Integration
Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Ansible (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
Automating OS patching, configuration management, and deployments
Integration of Ansible with Terraform, Kubernetes, OpenShift
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Podman)

•Skilled in one or more of the following areas: Application Development, Data Platform, Security, Application Integration, Data Engineering, Server Systems, Packaged Application Implementation, Business Analysis, Network Systems, or Storage Systems
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
•And/or Master Certified Technical Specialist
