Purpose of the position :
The employee independently develops analytical methods, conducts analysis of pharmaceutical/ nutraceutical formulations and documents it in accordance with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine analysis of different pharmaceutical dosage forms, summarize the data and develop or modify existing methods if required.
Interface with formulators to identify and address needs and concerns.
Demonstrate the ability to effectively execute assigned tasks and conduct complex assignments. Interpret complex data and solve scientifically challenging problems.
Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to shifting project time lines.
Develop and implement analytical strategies to support various projects.
Plan method validation studies and compatibility studies, prepare the required protocol, initiate the studies and prepare well summarized reports.
Support and coordinate for successful transfer of analytical methods.
Prepare analytical testing related documents like specifications, Analytical Testing Procedures and Certificate of Analysis. Review existing analytical specifications and methods and initiate revisions wherever required.
Prepare developmental / stability reports.
Ensure GLP is followed and avoid any non-compliance. Follow all safety guidelines.
Procure and study the Material Safety Data Sheets prior to handling any chemical.
Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of lab equipment.
Conduct literature search, be aware of industrial developments and try to incorporate new ideas wherever appropriate.
Check for external labs which offer analysis with high end instruments. Propose the use of data generated with such instruments.
Manage inventory of chemical, glassware and stocks of other consumables utilized in daily lab activities.
Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required
M.Sc / M Pharm / Masters in BioAnalytics with minimum 4 to 8 years of experience in Analytical Development.
Technical Knowledge (E.g. specialized knowledge required to perform all the required tasks)
Familiarity with various scientific instruments like HPLC, GC, UV Spectrophotometer, Dissolution Apparatus, Disintegration Tester, Autotitrator etc.
Experience in method development and Oral Drug Delivery formulation analysis .
Strong computer proficiencies – Word, Excel and Power point, knowledge of Chromeleon software.
Sound analytical skills with attention to details and creative approach to problem solving.
Strong organization and documentation skills.
Good communication and collaborative skills.
