This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 1500000 - Rs 3500000 (ie INR 15-35 LPA) Experience: 4+ yrs Location: Bengaluru Job Type: full-time We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Node.
js and Python to design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems in a fast-paced fintech environment.
In this role, you will contribute to developing high-performance backend services, ensuring system reliability, and enabling seamless integration with third-party fintech APIs, including US-based platforms like Plaid.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions that support financial workflows and customer-facing applications.
This position offers the opportunity to work on modern cloud-native architectures in a hybrid setup based in Bangalore, while contributing to products serving global fintech use cases.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.
js and Python.
Build and manage RESTful APIs for internal and external system integrations.
Integrate third-party fintech APIs such as Plaid and other financial data providers.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployment workflows.
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy services on Kubernetes clusters.
Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and optimized for performance.
Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams for feature delivery.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards.
What Makes You a Great Fit 3–6 years of experience in backend development with strong hands-on expertise in Node.
js and Python.
Experience building and maintaining REST APIs in production environments.
Strong understanding of fintech systems and financial data workflows is highly preferred.
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and scaling.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
Exposure to US fintech APIs such as Plaid is a strong advantage.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Good understanding of scalable backend architecture and system design principles.
Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional engineering teams.
Strong coding discipline with focus on performance, security, and reliability.
