About the role
This role is part of Accenture Research’s global industry research team with a focus on Communications & Media industry.
We are looking for a candidate with a passion for strategic research related to the industry, comfortable contributing with new ideas, exploring and validating new opportunities, and addressing specific business challenges.
Deep subject matter expertise (SME) in Communications & Media industry is imperative, as well as the understanding of key industry topics - including the value chain, the company financial value drivers, the key players, the technology / IT evolution, data and AI, consumer trends. A good understanding of the cross-industry synergies with communications, media and internet domains is a plus.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Drive both Thought Leadership and Client Research projects, both for internal Accenture objectives and directly for Accenture clients.
• Identify the key issues facing companies and design thought provoking points of view on the future of the industry and imperatives for success based upon proprietary insights, market analysis and understanding of emerging trends.
• Originate, sell and develop innovative research to explore provocative questions in a logical and structured manner.
• Design and manage research projects
• Utilize advanced analytical techniques to develop surprising new insights, and creatively visualize findings for client use
• Support the creation of compelling, business-focused stories.
• Contribute to high-quality presentation materials for current and potential clients, conferences, and other audiences.
• Liaise with industry practice, 3rd party data providers, and suppliers to bring external data and insights into research projects.
• Lead junior team members and actively develop them.
• Support the ongoing development of Accenture Research’s profile, visibility, and brand across our consulting practice.
Career Level: Manager or Associate Manager, subject to experience and expertise
Experience and skills:
• Recognized SME
• Strong understanding of industry/company value drivers and financial acumen
• Foundation of core research strategy skills & issue-based problem solving
• Strategic problem solver with the ability to take an issue and turn it into a researchable question
• Experience and facility with data-driven research techniques, data visualization and the application of advanced analytical approaches (e.g., machine learning, natural language processing)
• Ability to design, lead and deliver highly complex and innovative thought leadership research through e.g. industry player benchmarking, financial analysis or executive surveys
• Proven ability to create a project plan and execute against it
• Strong storytelling and communication skills and facility in executive presentation
• Ability to quickly establish credibility with senior-level leaders
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a global, multi-cultural team
• Clear enthusiasm for research and willingness to learn and grow
Additional Information
Reports to: CMT Research Lead
Supervises: Individual contributor role with an opportunity to supervise at a later stage
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business, economics, statistics, engineering or science), AND a full-time Masters/post-graduate degree (preferably in business, economics, statistics, engineering, science, supply chain, such as business (MBA) or equivalent).
Work Experience: Approx.. 9 to 14 years’ business research, thought leadership research and management consulting experience.
